Circulations examines the historical permanence and pervasiveness of human migrations and interconnexions between the African and the European shores of the Mediterranean sea which is - as is every sea or ocean - both a barrier and a hub.
The series features shields made of clay, painted with forms that combine the emblems (or insignia) of different legions stationed in Africa during the Roman Empire with classic Sufi art motifs.
